Old Vines

If you’re a fan of bourbon, good food, and great company, then Old Vines at Mercato in Naples, Florida is the place for you. I recently had the chance to attend their 4-Course Bourbon Dinner featuring Angel’s Envy, and it was one of the most flavorful and well-curated events I’ve experienced in a while.

Hosted by Chef Brooke Kravetz and bourbon expert @jennalovesbourbon, the evening perfectly blended delicious food with a bit of bourbon education. We kicked things off with an amuse-bouche, a bite-sized tuna taco paired with a Rye Thai cocktail, setting the tone for a night full of creativity and flavor.

A Dinner Designed for Foodies and Bourbon Lovers Alike

The first course featured crispy Fried Chicken with a bourbon maple glaze, paired with a neat pour of bourbon that brought out the sweetness in the dish. The second course showcased a rich Duck Confit served with cherry mole, pearl onion, and charred scallion, complemented by a Rye Whiskey neat.

For the third course, Chef Brooke wowed us with Smoked Quail, featuring plums, braised bacon, and creamy risotto, paired with the Angel’s Plummet, a smoked bourbon cocktail that stole the show.

And for the grand finale, the Wagyu Flank Steak arrived — perfectly cooked and served with pomme purée, wild mushrooms, and chimichurri — paired with the Ange Verde, a cocktail topped with an edible honeycomb. The presentation, flavor, and creativity were all next-level.

To end the evening, a sweet dessert course was served — the perfect finish to a night filled with fantastic food, bourbon, and good conversation.
