If you’re searching for an unforgettable dining experience in Orlando, Florida, look no further than Kaya, where culinary artistry meets Filipino heritage. Led by Chef Lordfer Lalicon, a 2025 James Beard Semi-Finalist and Michelin Award-winning chef, Kaya transforms traditional Filipino dishes into a world-class dining journey that food lovers won’t want to miss.
From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality that makes you feel like family — and once the first course hits the table, you’ll understand why this restaurant has earned such high praise.
We had the chance to experience Kaya’s Sama Sama Set Menu, a five-wave tasting experience that takes you on a flavorful journey through the Philippines — each dish crafted with precision, balance, and creativity.
First Wave | Kinilaw – The meal begins with Kinilaw na Isda, a Filipino-style ceviche bursting with brightness and depth.
Second Wave | Pancit + Gulay – A celebration of Filipino comfort food with Pancit Palabok and Lumpiang Sariwa, blending savory noodles with fresh, crisp vegetables.
Third Wave | Sabaw – The Sinigang na Isda introduces a tangy, comforting soup that’s both hearty and elegant.
Fourth Wave | Kanin + Ulam – The heart of the meal, featuring a spread of Dinguan, Chicken Afritada, Sugpo Laing, and Adobong Kabute — each dish showcasing rich, layered flavors that highlight Filipino culture’s soulful cooking.
Fifth Wave | Matamis – The perfect finale: Bibingka, a warm rice cake dessert, paired with a scoop of Sampaguita Ice Cream from Filipino Creamery @sampaguitaicecream (as seen on Somebody Feed Phil on Netflix).
Each course at Kaya celebrates tradition while pushing culinary boundaries, showing just how refined and innovative Filipino cuisine can be.
From the menu to the service, Kaya delivers an experience that’s both heartfelt and refined. Chef Lalicon’s vision brings authenticity and innovation together, making every guest feel part of the family.
Even if you’ve never tried Filipino food before, Kaya’s approachable yet elevated dining style makes it the perfect place to explore something new. Every dish tells a story — and every bite reminds you that great food connects people across cultures.
