If you’re a fan of freshly baked bread, flaky pastries, and great coffee, then you need to check out Sour & Dough Artisan Bakery — the newest addition to University Village in Fort Myers (Estero area). This charming café is more than just a bakery; it’s a cozy spot for breakfast, lunch, or a mid-day pick-me-up.
They’re serving up a variety of delicious options — from savory breakfast quiche and flavorful focaccia sandwiches to sweet treats like croissants and berry-filled pastries that will have you coming back for more.
During my visit, I tried their Quiche, a Berry Roll Pastry, and a Flat White Latte, and let me tell you — everything hit the spot. The quiche was rich and fluffy, the pastry perfectly balanced with sweetness, and the coffee had that bold, traditional Colombian flavor that gives just the right energy boost.
What makes Sour & Dough unique is their focus on artisanal baking and quality ingredients. The coffee, sourced from Colombia, is brewed a bit stronger than your typical European-style roast — and I loved every sip of it.
Pro tip: they just opened a couple of weeks ago, so come early because their baked goods sell out fast while they settle into their rhythm. Whether you’re grabbing a loaf of bread to take home, enjoying a slow breakfast, or meeting a friend for coffee, this new local spot is worth checking out.
